Paris 2012

Volkswagen | Press Conference

United Visions was once again responsible for creating the major graphics package for the Volkswagen press conference at this year’s Paris Motor Show. UV also produced the Golf 7 reveal film “The Key to Perfection” for the event.

With a key focus on the theme of ““The Golf. Das Auto.”, Volkswagen celebrated the world premiere of the 7th edition of its sporty icon, the Golf GTI. The company also presented the Golf BlueMotion, a car known for its outstanding fuel economy.

The event got underway with an exciting countdown that featured photorealistic images of several of Paris’ small and large architectural highlights. It then continued with “The Key to Perfection,” a film directed by Dieter Meier. “The Key to Perfection,” which is accompanied by a score written by Yello member Boris Blank, represents the new Golf 7 like no other film.

The Golf BlueMotion was unveiled using high-end coverflow graphics designed to be shown synchronously to the live performance. In stark contrast, the GTI presentation was pulsating, highly animated and recalled the entire distinguished history of the Golf GTI I-VI models. A simultaneous on-stage dance performance took the audience through four decades of rich history.

Both the film and the graphics were specifically designed and produced to fit the special screen, whose form recalled the shape of the fuel cap on the new Golf VII. In addition, an obligatory 16:9 version was produced for the live broadcast of the press conference.

In 2012, the Paris Motor Show – the world’s largest auto exhibition – was held under the motto “The Future Today” and attracted over 1,230,000 visitors who came to enjoy the latest cars up close and in person.
