Chattanooga Grand Opening

Volkswagen | Grand Opening

Over one billion US dollars was invested by the Volkswagen Group in their new factory in Chattanooga, Tennessee, thereby creating over 2,000 direct and 12,000 indirect jobs in the region.

Volkswagen’s USA head, Jonathan Browning, invited over 700 guests, in particular journalists and government representatives, to join in the opening ceremony.

The film package produced specifically for the event by United Visions fulfilled several tasks at once and consisted of the following: a brand film communicating the Volkswagen Group’s values and key figures; a long-term documentary highlighting the company’s investment in and construction of the factory in Chattanooga; and a film showcasing the region and familiarizing the invited guests with the factory site.

The creative idea and theme of the comprehensive graphics package were derived directly from the production process itself: the number animation in the opening countdown depicted robots that built, welded, painted and polished the numbers of the countdown.
